9/06-09/8 Barcelona

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
09.22.10. This is a break from Barcelona blogging. I have posted 39 posts and over 100+ photos of our first 48 hours in Barcelona. Now I shift my blogging to the Disney Magic referenced earlier in the blog. I will continue with 09/18-09/20 once I finish the blog for the cruise. Hopefully I will finish this blog by 12/01/10. More to come!
Heading to Cruise!!!!
09.08.10. Barcelona, Spain. Picked up some wine for the cruise and grabbed a cab to the port. I remember taking lots of photos of the taxi's rear view mirror in Asia as there were lots of flowers and Buddhas from it. In Spain, they hang cowboy boots! :) -at least this guy did.
Lulu/Momo
09.08.10. Barcelona, Spain. Neat little studio. Wendita posing as a manikin. Also, cat art we considered as it reminded us of Lulu(on left) and Momo(on right).
Palau De La Musica Catalana
09.08.10. Barcelona, Spain. The city's most prestigious concert hall.
Esgleia Santa Maria Del Mar
09.08.10. Barcelona, Spain.
Unknown Church
Closed Store
09.08.10, Barcelona. Again and again we saw this. Shops and restaurants that are crazy popular, closed until noon, 20:00, or later. It is not an early town...
La Rambla
09.08.10. Barcelona. The La Rambla, main downtown street. Watch out for pickpockets! Luckily we escaped without an incident.
Dragon
09.08.10, Barcelona. Again, neat to see the detail.
La Boqueria Market!
09.08.10. Barcelona, Spain. Maybe I love this place so much because I love food. Or because I love taking pictures? This place is a paradise for both.
I couldn't get the exposure setting correct on my coolpix, thus poor quality photos. Either way, it still reminds me a wonderful morning :)
Enjoy!
Seafood :)
09.07.10, Barcelona, Spain. When we got off the bus at Place de Catalunya it was pouring rain. Thus we darted under covered store awnings until the awnings ran out! We popped into this restaurant / bar for a time killer and it turned out to be the BEST SEAFOOD I have ever tasted! Grilled baby octopus and grilled cuttlefish. Soooo yummy.
Everything Wonderful
09.07.10. Barcelona, Spain. Walking back to hotel, just a building, but beautiful and different. Put a whole city together of interesting, beautiful, and different architecture and you have Barcelona.
Temple Expiatori Del Sarat Cor-Views of/from
09.07.10, Barcelona, Spain. Top of Tibidabo area. This church is visible from almost anywhere in Barcelona. Built between 1902 and 1911. We were able to climb the steps to the outside terrace for these breathtaking views.
Tibidabo
09.07.10. Barcelona, Spain. Tibidabo. Maybe the best view point of the city. Steep long tram ride to top...
